Christmas tastes like snowflakes.

And gingerbread. And amaryllis. And tinsel. And cloves. And candlelight. And angels. And chocolate. And warmth.

eclairs1.jpg

And éclairs dipped in chocolate.

And towers of cream puffs.

And vanilla. Christmas tastes like vanilla.

It’s almost here …

Ciao!

Your eclairs and cream puffs are to die for. Actually, they are made to be picked with delicate hands and eaten with closed eyes and undivided attention. Before reading your post, I answered your question in my mind. For me, Christmas tastes mostly like panettone. Not sure why, but this year I particularly miss it. May I have one of your eclairs to console myself?

Well written post. :)
And not to forget the taste of butter cookies glazed with egg wash.

Ohhhh holy yum yes :)

These two are my top two favorites for dessert pastries of all time.

You’re so right and I can’t believe christmas is only days away! Soooo much to do still!

Those are just beautiful. And they go with your beautiful words–light like snowflakes, soft like candlelight and chocolate like chocolate. I agree with Angela–two of the best pastries that exist.

Lovely idea to do the smells and tastes of Christmas. For me it’s the smell and taste of ham, freshly baked bread , cloves, olives raisins, capers …no snowflakes here.

Oh my goodness, these look AMAZING!! I also agree that these are two of the best pastries ever. Period. =) Wish I could reach into the screen and grab them!

Do you happen to have the recipe for these, or can you point me in the direction of a good tried and true recipe for either cream puffs or profiteroles? They are my mom’s fav desserts and I’d love to make her some =)

Deliiiiiiicious! I second the request to point us in a direction of your favorite cream puff (and cream filling… and chocolate glaze) recipes! Please!!!
